I've been playing since I was 15. I was raised on the bands of the era, like: Zappa, Soft Machine, Pink Floyd, The Pretty Things-- then, fell in love with jazz at 17. In my 20's, I studied various jazz and be-bop guitarists and got hooked on jazz guitar.
1997-2000: "The Karmanauts" an experimental power trio in Rochester
2000-2002: "X-Planet Id," a very powerful, loud psychedelic jam band with an outer space theme to most of the songs and stage presence.
2002- 2005: "The Freakness" very experimental duo that used recorded dialogue, industrial noise, deep space sounds, kaossilator, etc.
2006- 2025: "FlashBamPow" very active and very productive for close to 20 years. We constantly wrote, recorded and pushed musical boundaries until it was the right time to end.
Currently- The discipline never ends. Constant study, learning new techniques and arrangements, jamming with great musicians, writing new ideas!
I studied with respected Rochester jazz guitarists George Collichio and Steve Green. I also studied with Bob Sneider at the Eastman Community Music School, and attended various jazz guitar camps with respected legends such as Julian Lage, Martin Taylor, John Knowles and Kurt Rosenwinkle.
I will never stop studying and learning this instrument. It continues to fascinate me. It's an infinite craft that challenges me constantly and I love it.
